Music : Design : Fashion : And Other Beautiful Things.

Today started with an early morning  - chasing miniature cloud name tags and buying flowers for the set-up of the Huggies Momville babyshower launch event in Cape Town.

Ok, who am I kidding, actually my day started a lot earlier… with my 2yr 8 month old waking up juuust as I slipped into a much needed sleep after getting into bed at 1h30  … then he called me every 5 minutes from his bed until almost 3. Up down, in out.. Slip away.. wake up.. It was like slow torture.. especially when you know you have a big day ahead of you like I had today. Let’s just say I was not quite as impressed by him in that moment as I was the moment I first laid eyes on his beautiful little face.

But nothing some strong coffee and a good litre dose of Coca-Cola could not solve (yes, very healthy - but you do what you gotta do what you gotta do - you know). I tell you, if I could manage to package sleep-in-a-bottle I’d be the richest person alive. That’s for sure. I’d be my own best customer ;-)

Anyhoo, luckily everything went beautifully - the flowers I thought I’d struggle to find after shopping unsuccessfully at wholesalers yesterday were waiting for me at 8am at Woolworths in the Gardens Centre. I don’t care how much flack people are giving them at the moment - they totally saved my morning. Big love.

Set up was smooth and by well before the start at 2pm we were done, the place was looking stunning, food and cakes were very very inviting and I was about sleep standing. No amount of caffeine and sugar could keep me going at this point. So now I’m home for a quick rest before heading back there - with my two rugrats in tow - for the end and packing everything up.

Seems the event is going well (from a twitter source) - I just love getting public compliments.

So off I go… tonight I will sleep well - erm… let me rephrase that, I would sleep.. ‘Will’ is something completely out of my control. No matter what Gina Ford says (she’s apparently never even had her own kids - discipling other people’s kids is a whole lot easier.. duh)..

This is real life. Real parenting. Which is exactly why you should check out the Huggies Momville community and connect with other moms.

Cheers,

Donna
